For over 20 years, the multitalented actor Herbert Fritsch has also worked as a filmmaker and media artist. Oberhausen is featuring the first overview of his cinematic oeuvre. Ever since his early works, Fritsch has enjoyed shaking up cinematic dogmas, experimenting with visual languages and digital techniques. In Oberhausen early works such as Die Suppe (1984) or Der Ohrenwurm (1986) will be on view, along with the 55 short films that have been created thus far in the context of his sprawling project hamlet_X, which is fast on its way to forming its own cosmos. – In cooperation with the Theater Oberhausen.
