A rediscovery: after programmes on Žilnik, Godina and Makavejev, we proceed with our exploration of Yugoslavian documentary film of the 1960s and 70s. Concurrently with the ‘Black Wave’, Sutjeska Film in Sarajevo was making quieter, more sensitive works such as Dva Zakona (1968) or Fasade (1971) – just as committed and critical, yet with a lyricism and irony that is often surprising. A programme of films that in some cases have not been seen for decades outside Sarajevo.
