Light Cone is a non-profit association founded by Yann Beauvais and Miles McKanein 1982 with the aim of promoting, distributing and preserving experimentalcinema. Its primary role is to lend the works in its collection, as far as possible intheir original format, to cultural institutions, museums, non-profit organisations,theatres, cinemas, universities, galleries and festivals. In order to achieve this, Light Cone is structured as a cooperative in which filmmakers retain ownershipand rights over all material deposited with the association. The collection holdsnearly 3,500 films, videos and digital works. Annually, Light Cone organises a series of screenings for an audience of professional cultural programmers, which presentsnew works in distribution (the "Preview Show").
