Born in Oberhausen in 1970 , she briefly studied literary translation in Düsseldorf before taking up film, television and theatre studies, along with French and social psychology, in Bochum. She has been in charge of organizing and coordinating the MuVi programmes since 2000, and has been a member of the Selection Committee since 2001.
In addition to her work at Oberhausen, she has also translated and done voice-overs for various other festivals. She has been responsible for press and public relations work for the Duisburger Filmwoche festival since 2001. She also works as a curator at music video programmes for various festivals including femme totale (Dortmund), Impakt Festival (Utrecht) and Traumzeit (Duisburg).
