Onde o verão vai @ David Pinheiro Vicente, Portugal
Oberhausen is launching its new annual Country Focus section to present the current short film production from a European country, compiled by a curator from the respective country.
Country Focus Portugal
The first focus is on Portugal - Future Is Present, Strange Is Fine and All About Us are the titles of the three programmes Miguel Valverde (IndieLisboa) has put together for the 2020 Festival. Coming-of-age stories like David Pinheiro Vicente's Onde o Verão Vai (episódios da juventude) (Where the Summer Goes (Chapters on Youth)), a homage to the poet and painter António Lobo de Carvalho, called the Wolf of Madragoa, in Ao lobo de Madragoa by Pedro Bastos or Patrick Mendes' precise genre exercise A herdade dos defuntos (The Estate of the Dead) provide insights into the country's rich short film production.
