Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence
|Title||Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence|
In Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence personal recollections of the first McDonald’s in the Ruhr Area merge with collective remembrance. In 1975 the Vossen family gave up their family business in Herne’s pedestrian zone and in its place the franchise giant moved in. The vacant store, which is occasionally used as a band rehearsal room, becomes the protagonist of this short film. The shooting of the footage was produced by Urbane Künste Ruhr for the exhibition Ruhr Ding: Klima, 2021.
