38 New Short Films in Distribution

The new Oberhausen distribution catalogue is out

The International Short Film Festival Oberhausen is presenting its new distribution catalogue with 38 new acquisitions and numerous ready-to-screen feature-length programmes. These include award winners of the 64th festival edition, all nominees for the 20th MuVi Award for the best German Music Video and a number of highlights from the 2018 festival programmes. An additional thematic programme “Made in Germany 2: Inner City Life” was compiled from older titles. All films are now available to non-commercial venues for individual rentals or as complete programmes.

The International Short Film Festival Oberhausen has compiled six ready-made feature-length programmes this year: the most interesting productions from the 2018 competitions are gathered in the programmes “International Competition 2018” and “German Competition 2018”. “MuVi Award 2018” features all the candidates for this year’s 20th MuVi Award for the Best German Music Video. “Artist Film 2018” offers six works representing different artistic positions in current international short film production, “Award Winners 2018” presents a selection of the award winners of the 64th festival edition. The programme “Inner City Life”, the second edition of recent German short films, casts a fresh look at cities and urban architecture.

Interested borrowers can rent individual films or make their own compilation. The festival will on request offer assistance with compiling a programme or thematic research. In addition, excerpts of all films are available online here. The complete catalogue can also be downloaded from there as a PDF file.

In the past two years, more than 1,000 individual films were distributed and screened at venues in Germany and abroad, including in Argentina, Austria, Canada, China, Iran, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Uruguay or the US. The Oberhausen distribution service is international and non-commerical and is based on one of the oldest and most important short film collections in the world.
