Oberhausen is now inviting submissions for its 69th edition

 

German and international short films can now be submitted for the competitions of the 69th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, which will take place from 26 April to 1 May 2023. In addition, music videos can be submitted for the 25th German MuVi Award for the best German music video. The Festival is organising five competitions: the International and German Competition, the NRW Competition for productions from North Rhine-Westphalia, the International Children’s and Youth Film Competition and the German MuVi Award. A total of 41,000 euros will be awarded in all competitions.

 

The requirement for all competitions is that the works must have been produced after 1 January 2022. Submissions must be made via the festival website, where the different premiere requirements and regulations are also published. All competitions will take place on-site in Oberhausen. In addition, Oberhausen will be presenting the award-winning films online on a platform with worldwide access on 1 and 2 May.

Oberhausen is a qualifying festival for the European Film Award, the Short Film Oscar of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the British Academy Film Awards.

 

 

The 68th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen

In 2022, Oberhausen took place from 30 April to 9 May and awarded a total of almost 49,000 euros in seven competitions. The festival took place in hybrid form, with separate online and on-site competitions. More than 800 accreditations from 72 countries were registered. 163 works were screened in the competitions; more than 600 films were screened in all programmes of the 68th edition.
