Gespräch mit dem Filmhistoriker Tobias Ebbrecht-Hartmann über den filmischen Umgang mit der Bildästhetik des Materials der Täter. Forum demokratische Kultur und zeitgenössische Kunst
October 7 and its images evoke memories of the Shoah. The film historian Tobias Ebbrecht-Hartmann talks about the cinematic handling of the visual aesthetics of the perpetrators' material. How can propaganda-ideologically formed images be dealt with? What messages are inscribed in this material and how can they be interpreted? In this context, Ebbrecht-Hartmann points out the dilemma that the current cultural debate is hardly in a position to emancipate itself from the "Hamas script". Tobias Ebbrecht-Hartmann teaches visual culture, film and media studies and cultural history of memory at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
