Labs Online: Artist Film Workshop
Artist Film Workshop (AFW) is a Melbourne-based artist-run group with a mission to advocate for, and provide access to, film: materials, knowledge and resources. To this end, AFW holds regular open screenings and organises at-cost practical workshops for artists working with film—or those interested in doing so.
The AFW lab space, recently rebuilt and reopened post-Covid, includes editing benches, projectors, cameras, two wet labs (where cine-film of any gauge can be processed), a 16mm contact printer, an optical printer, and a screening space.
The collective is membership based and open to anyone who wishes to join, learn and make films.
