A shadow of a leaf dances to a bird song.
Its final breath is soft –
- Unlike humans’.
At the verge of their lives they can’t dance.
They are still, mute and in pain.
New generations lurk violently from behind the door.
Glancing through a distorted window.
About the filmmaker:
Ana Aleksovska is a film director from Skopje, Macedonia.
Her short documentary Consuming Contemporary (2019) premiered internationally at Hot Docs IDFF and won FeKK’s Grand Prix and Kustendorf’s Bronze Egg.
She is currently in preproduction of a short animated documentary Hide And Seek, she develops at the CEE animation workshop.
