Surface Séance

A trip on public transport in Vienna here becomes a special research expedition, as the filmmaker Michael Heindel approaches the trivial things of everyday life with conceptual enthusiasm. His protagonist and visual focus is an amorphous being; it emerges from the fragile black in a dirty white. There are traces left by bodies, smears found on panes of glass and other surfaces in the public space.
