The 27th MuVi Award is now online

71st International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, 29 April – 4 May 2025

The 27th MuVi Award is now online
Twelve clips are ready for votes for the Audience Award

More international than ever: Twelve German music video productions were selected for the 27th MuVi Award of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. To participate, the candidates must be German productions, independent of where they were shot or who the performers are. And so this year’s MuVi Award is unusually international, with clips shot in Japan or South Korea, among others. The Award goes to the directors for the best visualisation of a piece of music. All videos are now online to collect votes for the Audience Award.

The musical styles range from electronic music to tuba sounds, from Chris Imler to Saeko Killy. Visually, the clips cover a spectrum from a slow boat ride to animated collages, from analogue robot worlds to AI-generated images. Surreal dream worlds, flying sneakers, a slightly different K-Pop girl group, pigeons and troll armies – with their fascinating creative approaches, the clips push the boundaries of the music video format.

All nominated clips are online from 3 April to 3 May to collect votes for the MuVi Online Audience Award, on muvipreis.de and the websites of the MuVi partners. All internet users are invited to help their favourite win the 500 euros that come with the Award. The MuVi Award Ceremony will take place on Saturday, 3 May 2025, at the 71st International Short Film Festival Oberhausen.
