I attended this Caribbean cruise with my parents in 1995 when I was 9 years old. My main memory is endless buffets with ice sculptures and eating soft ice cream non-stop. Back then not many thought about the impact that cruise ships could make on the planet. They have tripled in size and capacity since. In one day, a single cruise ship can emit as much particulate matter as a million cars. Without strictly enforced international rules, the cruise ship industry will continue to disregard possible solutions.
